This problem is driving me crazy! Can someone help me get my Toshiba 3.0 USB External Hard Drive working right, please? So I unplugged the hard drive and this error appeared: I tried to eject and remove the hard drive and waited for the notification to appear, but it wouldn't respond. The status reads, "Device can perform faster when connected to USB 3.0." I went to Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>View devices and printers and it shows up on Devices as "External USB 3.0." I unplugged it one more time, but this error appeared: I plugged it in again and double-clicked on the icon, and the same thing happened. When I unplugged the hard drive, File Explorer starts responding again. On the navigation pane, it said "Local Disk (D:)". When it loads, it stops responding like this: Things started to get even worse when I opened File Explorer. I plugged in my hard drive, but the PC recognized it as "External USB 3.0" instead of the Toshiba Hard Drive name. So I was using my Toshiba 3.0 USB External Hard Drive on my Windows 10 PC since a couple of months ago.
